You will notice that our courts will be very busy during certain periods of the day in the coming weeks starting September 12th. We would like to explain why that is so.
Like past years, the Club is renting out some courts to the local high schools so that they can run a tennis unit as part of their gym curriculum – all in an effort to grow tennis in Barrhaven. The sessions (likely to take place on 4-5 days) will generally run between 8:30-3:30.
In addition, the local high schools are renting some of our courts after school (generally between 2:30 and 5:00 or 5:30) to put together their teams in preparation for the Ottawa school boards tennis tournament.
Because the club wants to make sure there are courts available to our members, it has guaranteed the schools only courts 1-4. They can use courts 5-6 only if they have not been booked by members.
Barrhaven Tennis Club will be hosting some of the high school tournament matches beginning in late September and continuing into October. On those days (likely to number 4-5), the courts will not be available to members between 8:00 and 4:00. We will provide you with the exact dates as soon as we have them. Once again, we will be collecting rent for the use of the courts,
